We are excited to announce our sixth location, Harbor Child Care at Shelter Rock. We partnered with the Garden City Union Free School District, providing Universal Pre-K services to children throughout the community.
What Is Universal Pre-K?
Universal Pre-K (UPK) is funded by the New York State and federal government, providing families with quality early learning programs free of charge. UPK teachers are highly qualified and are required to hold:
- A teaching license or certificate valid for service in the early childhood grades
- A teaching license or certificate for students with disabilities valid for service in early childhood grades
- For eligible agencies collaborating with the district, a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a teaching license or certificate valid for services in the childhood grades

Our Shelter Rock Universal Pre-K program runs from September through June and is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.
