There is no doubt that safe and reliable child care is needed throughout Nassau County, and our six centers certainly provide that. What started out as a passion in 1973 by our founder Jill Rooney, has now been embraced by our dedicated Board of Directors, each of whom has made it their personal mission to see Harbor Child Care succeed. As one of the largest not-for-profit organizations on Long Island, we provide full-day child care, early childhood and school-age education as well as before and after-school programming.

What makes our board unique is the fact that each member brings professional knowledge and expertise which they continuously apply to enable Harbor Child Care to thrive during these tumultuous times when parents are under pressure from all sides. Several members also have first hand experience with Harbor having had their children attend one of our many locations. They all wholeheartedly support our mission of preparing children for life beyond academics which can be accomplished by offering an enriched environment and loving, talented teachers.
