Stress-Busting Tips
You can stop the burnout, anxiety, and raised voices in their tracks. Here are some ways to ensure your sanity stays intact.
Self-Care
We must take care of our mental, emotional and physical health. If your day gets out of hand, relax with a cup of tea, listen to music or go outside for a walk. Do simple activities to re-energize your mind and body.
Engage in Play
Play with your kids. This is a sure-fire way to relieve stress. When you are laughing and having fun, your body releases endorphins that make you feel good.
Deep Breathing
If you are experiencing signs of burnout, try a few deep breathing techniques to calm yourself. Breathe in slowly, fill your lungs with air, and gently exhale. Do this for two to three minutes.

Being a parent can be a wonderful, but exhausting experience. Don’t let the pressure get to you.
Seek Professional Help
If parenthood gets to be too much, get some help. Consider meeting with a trained expert. Parenting classes and support groups are also beneficial.
Take a Mental Vacation
Close your eyes. Relax your muscles and take a few deep breaths. Imagine you’re in your favorite place. See the sights in your mind, hear the sounds, and breathe the air. You will feel refreshed in no time.
More Chill-Out Ideas
There are many other proven ways to reduce stress. Get up a few minutes earlier in the morning. Prepare for the next day the evening before. Write down daily appointments. Read a good book. Restrict the amount of caffeine in your diet. Count your blessings. Learn to say “no.” Try yoga or meditation. Talk to your friends.
